The Ufanisi Women’s Maize Mill project

 

In Bongoma, Kenya, the Ufanisi Women’s Group built an easily accessible maize mill where local women farmers could grind maize to feed their own families and sell the extra to support their families. Before the maize mill was built, the women had to walk a very long distance through rough, dangerous terrain to reach the one mill available to them. the building of the new. easily accessible maize mill allowed women to grind more maize to benefit their families and the local community.
